Is There Sea Glass in Manhattan Beach?

Located on the sunny coast of Southern California, Manhattan Beach is a charming beach town known for its Open Volleyball Tournaments and Surf Festivals. Unfortunately, this small but quaint beach city is not known for its sea glass.

SEA GLASS IN MANHATTAN BEACH

Even though the beach is a little over two miles long, the fine sand and lack of rock formations make Manhattan Beach a poor choice for anyone looking to find sea glass; however, some people have reported finding sea glass in Manhattan Beach at low tide after a storm. Unfortunately, it rarely rains in Southern California.

On the other hand, Manhattan Beach is still a favorite spot for many beach lovers. You can stroll along the boardwalk that runs parallel to the bike path, check out the pier, do some beach shopping, have a meal, or just chill on the sand. Even though you probably won’t find any sea glass in Manhattan Beach, you can still enjoy a great day on the beach.

THE ODDS OF FINDING SEA GLASS SOUTH OF MANHATTAN BEACH IN REDONDO BEACH ARE BETTER

The neighboring cities of Manhattan Beach–Hermosa Beach and El Segundo–yield little sea glass too. In Redondo Beach, however, near Palos Verdes, which is further south of Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach, the odds of finding sea glass are a little better. The best time to look for sea glass in South Redondo Beach is also at low tide after a storm.
